As far as bachelor pads go, men usually don’t need a lot. A big television, a bed to sleep in, and probably some gaming consoles in addition to the most basic furniture are more than enough to keep them happy in their homes. Take Kapuso actor Mikael Daez, for example, who just moved into his new pad. He knew exactly what he needed and shared a photo of his place on Instagram. Practically bare and unfurnished, Mikael proudly showed off a part of his home, and the actor looked very pleased with it. He wrote, “When you’ve just moved in and don’t have any stuff… And I decided to get a TV first instead of a bed.” True enough, Mikael had a huge flatscreen television set up on the floor of his room. However, he has no bed and used comforters for a makeshift sleeping place. Aside from that, his room only had a chair, a small shelf, and a small crate. If only the actor did not admit that he had just moved in, then one would think that he’s following the Japanese minimalist sty
It won’t be too long before you’ll see another Aquino in politics – and that’s because Kris Aquino was forced to take on the challenge of running her campaign for the next election.
The ‘Queen of All Media’ has had enough of netizens spreading ‘fake news’ about her candidacy, and did the only thing to put them in their place: through a lengthy social media post.
On Instagram, the 46-year-old celebrity schooled ‘fake news purveyors’ in history and good governance, according to a PUSH report.
Her post partly read:
“This is just TRUTH for all those fake news purveyors. We had English grammar earlier now it’s time for history: my dad was imprisoned during Martial Law when i was 19 months old. Before i was 7 years old i was campaigning for him, in grainy videos or if you search the New York Times, Time magazine etc from 1978 i have pictures w/ Tito Nene Pimentel (Senate President Koko’s father) holding me steady on a chair or carrying me so i could reach the microphone- i believe the documentary Batas Militar has footage of 6-7 year old me saying speeches. I am a straight talker, because i’ve had 40 years of experience in speaking at political rallies, and i did that when there was no freedom of speech & no freedom of the press.”
Was there a shade somewhere? Probably.
The former prolific host also begged others to let her work in peace since she’s not really interested in any political discourse.
Moreover, Kris emphasized that she is still concerned with current events in the country. As a matter of fact, she consistently tops the list of highest individual taxpayers in the Philippines. Based on a PEP report, she placed fourth in 2014 when she paid Php54 million in taxes.
“You must know i VERIFY my FACTS before i post, in 10 years 2007-2016 to be exact i have paid P361,798,667.75 in income tax to the Philippine government. This doesn’t make me a better Filipino than others- but it does prove that i am a RESPONSIBLE citizen.”
According to her, the social media celebrity doesn’t want to rely on her last name that propelled her late mother and brother as Philippine presidents. Before she runs for public office, Kris wants to be a ‘self-made entrepreneurial success’ first.
She ended her post with a cryptic message: “Fake News peeps – you challenged me. I’m now going to work so much harder to make your No to Aquino irrelevant because it will be a Yes to KRIS.”
In true Kris fashion, she even included a snippet from Culture Club’s Karma Chameleon, along with a slide of her photos.
